Jessica Meeker, LMSW
Hey there. We all start somewhere as we find our way back to ourselves.
Undoing the wounds and harmful messages we have experienced can often feel lonely and it is my desire to walk alongside you, to bear witness to you, in a safe, secure, and honest therapeutic relationship based on trust and unconditional positive regard. I see myself as a fellow traveler, the one in the passenger’s seat sometimes giving directions or pointing out interesting things I notice.
The goal is that you feel empowered to understand yourself more fully as well as to create new stories, behaviors, thought patterns, and ways of being that allow for a more functional and adaptive life.
I enjoy working with individuals across various ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds, with a desire to serve those from marginalized communities. I am a LGBTQ+ affirming therapist and desire to create a space of safety and inclusion. I utilize a person centered mind-body approach with a variety of techniques including narrative therapy, IFS, somatic techniques and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) & Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) when behavioral skills are needed. My focus includes the effect systems have on each individual including racism, poverty, misogyny, family systems, social systems, systemic injustice. & oppression.
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker LMSW #18797 in the state of Arizona and graduated with a Masters in Social Work from Arizona State University.
I am clinically supervised by Lynn Sorenson, LCSW #15265 as I work towards independent licensure.
Phone Consult
Reach out via text, phone, or email to set up a 15 minute phone consultation to chat, talk about your hopes for therapy, and see if we are a good fit.
Intake Session
This is the first therapy session. We will go over paperwork that was sent to you electronically, confidentiality and its limits, what you are experiencing, and potential goals for treatment. If you are seeking trauma therapy, we do not need to go over all the details right away, we will get to that once we are farther along. This takes trust and time.
Therapy Process
The therapeutic process can take as long or as short as you need it to be depending on what you have experienced. I hope to walk along side you, help you untangle, until you no longer need me. The goal of therapy is to end where you feel empowered and capable.

On a personal note, I enjoy reading, cooking, dancing, tending to my plants and listening to my favorite vinyls. When I am not with clients I can be found at the movies, outside, spending time with friends, or at a good thrift store. I enjoy lazy evenings watching a show and eating popcorn with my pup Reyna.
